11 Pound Balls

My last night in Vegas-- well, the night I thought was gonna be my last-- I went bowling at Orleans with Rei and Marshall and Charles Anthony and his chick friend Desi. As usual, I sucked. The eleven pound balls I can throw pretty easily but Rei says they aren't heavy enough, but anything heavier kills my shoulder. So out of three or four games I think my highest game was 97. Superbad!

I left Orleans for the airport, arriving about five til midnight. My flight left at 1:10am. I though. It actually left at 12:10am, and so I missed it. So I got an extra day in Vegas, finally leaving at 11:59pm Tuesday. My trip home would not be without more delays, though. While most of the passengers on the red-eye were sleeping, some guy in first class passed out from some diabetic problem and we did a medical emergency landing in Kansas City.
I must have dozed off for a few minutes when I was awakened by a message from the captain over the intercom, ".....Kansas City and then we'll be on our way to Cincinnati."
Since I missed the first part of the message, I assumed he had said we were now flying over KC and would be in Cincinnati in an hour or so. But then I noticed we had started descending, and there was some commotion over a gentlemen in the first class aisle. After a few minutes, the landing gear came down so I looked at my watch. I knew we weren't yet in Ohio. So the captain again came on to inform us that we were, indeed, landing in Kansas City. He seemed to be under the impression that we would only be there for a few minutes, since it was late and the airport had no other traffic. What he did not realize, though, was that we had to be refueled and de-iced. The fuel truck took two hours to arrive. When we finally did get to Cincinnati, I had missed my connection to Charlotte. Delta sent me over to a new flight at a gate in a different terminal. So I took the shuttle bus over there, only to be told they were gonna put me on a USAir flight, which was leaving an hour earlier but which required me to again take a shuttle, then an underground tunnel, then a twenty minute walk to the oldest terminal at the airport. I arrived earlier than security, so I had to wait twenty minutes or so before I could go down to the gate. USAir has a really crappy location there....
Finally I arrived home. Kind of. I stayed at my mom's house for a few days before coming home to bury my hamster.
