Indians (The Dot Kind) & Beatles (The Singing Kind)

This past Saturday I attended the Indian Student Association gathering at UNLV. I'm not Indian, of course, but there was food......
There was about an hour or so of the stage presentation, which included traditional dances, songs, a slide show, and, quite strangely, a choreographed dance to the music of Little Jon. Afterwards everyone queued up for the curry feast. I don't like curry, but some of the dishes weren't too bad. Like the rice. The ISA members kept inviting everyone to disco at nine o'clock. Deesko.
On Sunday, Rei and I were given free tickets to go see the new Cirque show at Mirage, Love, with music by The Beatles. The show itself was pretty standard Cirque stuff, I guess, but the music was fantastic. The songs were all remastered from the original studio recordings, and were just unbelievable. So often the modern CDs are burned from second and third generation recordings and the quality is noticeably depreciated, but the sounds in Love were all clear and distinct. Also, the version of Strawberry Fields they played was pretty cool. It was a mash of two different studio takes, one quite different from the radio version.
It was very enjoyable, and from the second row, we could very much appreciate the well-formed bodies of the Cirque guys.
So, thanks for the tickets, Sam!
