Birthday Fun

A day late, yes, but still fun, I celebrated my 28th birthday with my friends on Sunday, in the Cuarto de Ventanas at Super Mex. The chicken burrito I had-- which I'd been craving for weeks-- was super yummy. The servers did their Spanish birthday song while presenting me my fried ice cream, and our lady server spooned me the first bite.
Mucho thanks to all of my friends who came out.
My other birthday dinner, with Reimon, was at Lucille's BBQ at The District, at Green Valley Ranch. The chicken and pulled pork were super delicious, especially smothered in their sweet bourbon sauce. Yum Yum. Unfortunately I couldn't finish all of mine, nor Rei his, because we'd filled up on an appetizer of fried okra. Not even room for dessert! Later in the day, however, we visited Dairy Queen so I could have the butterscotch dipped cone I'd been craving for days.
I thought, until just a few minutes ago when I checked online, that Lucille's was owned by B.B. King. This must be a common misconception--- and I hate to admit being part of mass ignorance-- because on the company's website, the very first question on the FAQ is, Who owns Lucille's? The answer is not, in fact, B.B. King, the famous blues guitarist whose guitar is named Lucille, but Craig Hofman. Whoever that is.
Now I'm only 2 years from being 30. Which means I'm barely 10 years from being 40. Ten years have passed unbelievably quickly since I graduated high school. And is this, then, all there is? Ah... the questions we must ponder as we age.
But even if the entirety of my existance is between my birth and my death, I am satisfied in knowing that I have found the one thing for which we all desperately search for: love. I wouldn't mind so much if I had such luck with money, too.
