Thought of the Day

It's kind of random, but as I was thinking this morning, sitting in my chair doing my slow breathing relaxation, the thought occurred to me: Why waste time looking for what you've already got?"
It is a common trait amongst my generation to never be content with what you have, whether it is money, possessions, job, love, etc. The grass must be greener somewhere, right?
Maybe, maybe.
But sometimes we don't quite comprehend just how satisfying what we already have can be, because our desire for something different precludes contentment. How can you ever be happy if you constantly want something more?
If you have a job that pays $30,000, you want one that pays $40,000. When you get that one, you start dreaming about one that pays $80,000. And if you get that one, your sights are always set on that six-figure salary. Always looking for more.
If you have a Jetta, you want a BMW. If you have a Lincoln, you want a Lexus. If you have Mercedes, you want a Jag. More expensive, faster, more horsepower, finer leather upholstery. Always looking for more.
And Love. Ah, Love. Satisfaction is not something to be gained, but something to be learned.
So why waste time looking for something you've already got?
