Kreme-less

There is nothing in this world that taste any better than a cream-filled glazed doughnut from Krispy Kreme. Unfortunately, getting one of these delicious sugar-coated fried treats just got a little harder. It seems as if there used to be more locations, but currently there are six Krispy Kreme stores in the Vegas area. One of those is located in the Excalibur Hotel. It is open 24 hours, and has, in the past, been the only KK in the area to carry the cream-filled glazed doughnut. Apparently even they no longer have them-- or at least not on a regular basis. Sure, they carry the chocolate-iced cream filled, but it's just not the same. I need that sticky sugar shell to go along with the rich, smooth, extremely fattening creamy middle. One doughnut has 20 grams of fat! A third of your suggested daily intake! I eat at least three of these doughnuts at a time.... I should be a whale. But I'm skinny. Therefore, doughnuts make you skinny. It's pure logic.
Around 11pm last night I walked up to that green counter and confidently asked for a half-dozen cream-filled glazed, only to be informed that they do not have them. "We have chocolate-iced cream-filled and custard-filled glazed, but not cream-filled glazed," I was informed. For the next several moments, I was confused and unsure of what to do. Custard is no good! My brow furrowed and lips contorted into a petulant frown. Why no cream-filled glazed?? They have the cream! They have the glaze! How hard is it to put them together? The lady behind the counter didn't seem to understand the severe disappointment she hand caused me. A few moments of silence passed, and she finally repeated herself. "We have chocolate-iced cream-filled." "Fine," I said. "Those will have to do."
Oh! What I would do for a cream-filled glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut!
