Baltimore - Washington DC Vacation: Days 3 & 6
By karstentb on Apr 15, 2009 | In Vacation and Travel, Photos
Continuing from the previous post...
I've combined days 3 and 6. I took none on day 5, and day 4, the Cherry Blossom Parade, I'll post seperately.
Day 3: The Hotel
I rode the train down to DC on the third day of the trip, and checked into the Washington Marriott at Wardman Park. It's the largest hotel in the city, with 1,300 rooms. I only stayed in one of them.

Room #3010.
I was a bit disappointed that there was no free internet, there was no refrigerator (despite the cabinet for it), and that when I called to get the code for the safe, nobody ever came to give it despite their promise to "send somebody up right away." The pros: excellent location, comfortable rooms, well maintained facilities, beautiful lawn, at a great price. And this data port thing...
The view from my room, looking southeast.
Day 6: The Tidal Basin
Due to rain and crowds, I didn't take a whole lot of photos on the trip. The light drizzle on the morning of my last day in DC kept some of the people away from the monuments, and I was able to take a few photos. They're all pretty crappy. I'm sleep, so no individual captions. It's the Washington Monument, Jefferson Memorial and cherry trees around the tidal basin. You can figure it out.
